Alvina Ling Acquires Hai Tao’s MG Novel

Many of our Critique Group regulars members will remember Hai Tao as we worked on her middle-grade manuscript, CATTAIL, a semi-autobiography about growing up in China during the Cultural Revolution. Not only is the main character facing the pressure of being a girl in China at that time, she is desperate to get an education in a political climate that rejects academics. Well, Hai Tao's gripping story has moved from manuscript to book. Alvina Ling, of the new Alvina Ling Books imprint at Little, Brown, has acquired rights to Hai Tao's debut novel. Release is scheduled for fall 2027.
